Tualatin Basement Kitchen Remodel
This Tualatin project transformed an outdated basement kitchen into a modern, open space designed for gathering, entertaining, and everyday living—proving that even below-grade spaces can feel bright, connected, and intentional.

Bringing the Whole Basement Together
By removing the dividing wall, the kitchen now opens directly to the family room, where a new tiled fireplace and entertainment center serve as the focal point. Oak-grain laminate flooring runs throughout, tying the spaces together and creating a cohesive, modern feel.

Before NW Residential began work, the basement kitchen showed its age both in layout and materials. The closed floor plan restricted natural flow, and dated finishes made the space feel isolated from the rest of the home. While functional, the kitchen lacked the openness and warmth needed to support modern family life.

Every feature was considered.
We designed a new open-concept kitchen featuring walnut cabinetry, quartz countertops, and carefully selected accent pendant lighting and wall sconces to brighten the space and add visual interest.

Customization was essential.
The finished basement kitchen balances contrast and cohesion. Matching walnut cabinetry is offset by a painted accent peninsula, while four floating shelves stand out against an Esagono tile backsplash with a bold geometric pattern.

Together, the layered textures, colors, and materials create a space that feels modern, welcoming, and well connected to the rest of the home.
